Adolescent Counseling Services’ houses four programs including: On-Campus Counseling Program providing free counseling services to students and their families at schools in culturally diverse communities in the Mid-Peninsula area, our Adolescent Substance Addiction Treatment Program providing intensive outpatient and outpatient services for teens and their families, our Outlet program providing support, educational and therapeutic services for LGBTQIA+ youth and their families, and finally, our Community Counseling Program providing therapeutic services for teens and their families. Interns and trainees are placed in one program for the entire year and they provide ongoing individual, group and family counseling services to clients and family members within their program. QUALIFICATIONS:
Ideally, applicants will have prior experience working with children and/or adolescents. At least one year of related clinical experience and/or experience working in a program-related setting would be especially helpful but is by no means a requirement. People of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

TRAINING AND SUPERVISION:
ACS follows all BBS/BOP regulations in regards to clinical supervision. Interns and trainees receive a minimum of 1 hour of individual supervision and 2 hours of group supervision on a weekly basis. ACS also offers a weekly 1-2 hour Training Program on a range of clinical topics that runs throughout the year. Site & Clinical Supervisors are composed of experienced Clinicians, Licensed Psychologists (PhD & PsyD), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW).

STIPENDS:
We are able to offer a stipend to all trainees (Paid twice yearly). Bi-lingual Spanish and some threshold language speakers are eligible to receive a stipend increase.”

TIME COMMITMENT:
Mid-August through mid-June; 16-24 hours per week per contracted agreement with academic institutions. Some programming stretches into the summer months and may include an extended or supplemental arrangement. Wednesday afternoons are reserved for supervision and Didactic training in most programs.
