Outlet Celebrates Local LGBTQ+ Youth Community at 2018 Out to Eat Fundraising Gala
Former Outlet Program Director, Anthony Ross, featured keynote speaker at this year’s event
PALO ALTO, Calif. – Outlet, a program of Adolescent Counseling Services (ACS), a community-based nonprofit agency dedicated to the healthy social and emotional welfare of youth, will host its annual fundraising gala Out to Eat, on October 4th, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Oshman Family JCC in Palo Alto.
This year’s featured keynote speaker is Anthony Ross, past Outlet Program Director and current Program Manager for Transgender Services in the County of Santa Clara Office of LGBTQ+ Affairs. Ross joined Outlet in 2003 to coordinate and implement its programs and became the Outlet Program Director in 2008, where he provided leadership, support, and education to the LGBTQ+ community on the Peninsula. After 15 years with ACS, he continues to provide critical support for local LGBTQ+ communities. “We see queer youth and their families who come to us asking for support; there aren’t many other reliable resources in the Bay Area,” said Ross on the importance of programs like Outlet. “When we serve those of us who struggle the most, we serve the needs of all.”
Out to Eat will feature a raffle, hors d’oeuvres by local favorite Catered Too!, live music, and moving testimonials from client speakers whose lives have been changed by Outlet’s services. Out to Eat is open to all community members who would like to attend. Tickets are $100 each, and sponsorship opportunities are available for larger groups. To learn more about the event or purchase tickets online, please visit www.outteat.org or call 650.424.0852 ext 105.
ACS is grateful to the sponsors whose generous support make Out to Eat possible. 2018 Sponsors include the El Camino Healthcare District, Applied Materials, Oath, and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. ACS is also excited to announce two musical sponsors for this year’s event: the Palo Alto chapter of School of Rock, a hard-rocking band made up of local music students, and Slack Tide Currents, a band that consists of three local public school high school teachers.
Proceeds from Out to Eat benefit Outlet, a program of Adolescent Counseling Services.
