Clinical Intern - Bilingual
FUNCTION: Provide bilingual individual, family and group
therapy for teens and their families in a secondary
school setting, as well as crisis intervention and prevention
education.
REPORTS TO: Site Director at particular school site.
SCHEDULE: This is for the 2010 – 2011 academic
year. Recruiting starts in January on an annual basis.
Part-time, 16-20 hours a week.
SALARY: This year there is a $3,000 stipend available
for bilingual interns.
POSITION SUMMARY
Adolescent Counseling Service’s (ACS) On-Campus
Counseling Program provides mental health counseling,
crisis intervention and education to adolescents and
their families at the five secondary schools within
Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD), at Menlo-Atherton
High School, Redwood High School and at La Entrada Middle School. ACS is currently seeking part-time clinical
interns (MFT Trainees, MFT Interns, MSW Trainees and
Interns, and Pre Doctoral Students) to work with adolescents
and their families. ACS provides excellent clinical
supervision and training. This is an ideal position
for a clinical intern looking to broaden their clinical
experience and receive high-quality clinical training.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct individual, group and family therapy for
clients.
- Perform assessments
- Assist in crisis intervention
- Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner
for statistical data and tracking the clients’
progress.
- Work as a team to provide the best possible treatment
to clients.
- Act on behalf of ACS in a professional and appropriate
manner.
- Conduct prevention education in the community,
when necessary.
- Represent ACS at community functions when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Individual, group and family therapy experience
encouraged
- Able to commit to one full academic year
- Fluent in English and one of the following languages,
in order of greatest need: Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese. Must be fluent enough to provide
effective therapy in designated language.
- Should have one year of related clinical experience
- Interest in working in a school setting
- Family therapy and/or experience with adolescents
are preferred
